Roderick's birthday was on the 18th. He's really not a birthday type of person, he doesn't like to be fussed over, he doesn't want presents. But I ended up organizing a dinner for him at his favourite restaurant, Al Maghreb, which is in the Serena hotel here in Islamabad. It serves Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine, and is simply delicious! I only invited his closest friends here, all of whom are 50+ (not that there's anything wrong with that, I LOVE birthdays because I love getting older) and all of whom we have known since we arrived here. We almost didn't make it to the dinner, because he just wanted to spend his birthday at home, relaxing. Finally I managed to convince him to go and he was so surprised! Some of them even brought him gifts, which I was totally not expecting and super sweet of them. He even said it was his favourite birthday yet, so yay :)
On the 19th it was also my brother's 24th birthday, so happy birthday brother bear <3
And I've just realized that there's only one more weekend to get through before our vacation. Woohoo! I need to get out of here so damn bad. While I do love it here, being around the same people constantly and just being so confined really begins to wear on me.
